NetEnt just released a new online slot game called Rage. This new game uses a fantasy theme with warriors, wizards and more.
The game has 5 reels that are 2, 2, 4, 4 and 4 symbols high and comes with 256 ways. Meaning symbols pay left to right, starting with reel 1, no matter where on the reels.
Besides standard low paying card symbols you will also find 4 different high paying character symbols. In the base game there are no wild symbols and a colossal scatter symbol can only appear on reels 1 and 2, 2×2 symbols big.
Rage comes with a maximum payout of 1.860 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.

Colossal symbols
Colossal symbols can appear on reels 1 and 2 and are 2×2 symbols big. This can be any character, a combination of characters or a scatter symbol. These symbols can as 4 separate symbols.
Re-spin Feature
When a colossal symbol lands on reels 1 and 2, which is not the scatter symbol, you will trigger a re-spin feature.
The colossal symbol is held and the others reels respin. As long as matching symbols land, respins continue. During these respins symbols pay anywhere, they don’t need to be from left to right.
Free Spins
When the colossal scatter symbol lands, it will count as 4 symbols and you will trigger a respin where only scatters now appear on reels 3, 4 and 5.
Each scatter symbol landing will add 1 more free spins to the already 4 from the colossal scatter. After this free spins are played.
Free Spins Feature
During free spins the Re-spin feature is also still active. After a Re-spin Feature any character symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5 can randomly become a sticky wild symbol.
These will stay on the reels until the end of the feature.
You can’t win extra free spins during this bonus.

Verdict
NetEnt does it again. A very fun game with some cool features, but with a pretty low maximum payout.
I’m really not sure why they keep doing this. This game could have easily gotten a much bigger maximum payout, to make it more interesting.
Overall the game looks amazing, features come regularly and are a lot of fun. But because of that low maximum payout, it never gets really exciting. A shame.
