Scroll of Seth Overview
This week Play’n Go has released a new slot game called Scroll of Seth. And you might think that this game is another “Book of” version, because of the name and theme. It fits perfectly with games like Scroll of Dead or Pilgrim of Dead. But it’s not part of these games. In fact it uses totally different features, but I understand why it confuses.
The game uses an Egyptian theme and revolves around the god of war, chaos and storms, Seth.
You will find 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 10 lines.
Besides standard card symbols and different Egyptian animals, you will also find Seth, which as acts the wild symbol. All these symbols can appear stacked on all reels. Besides these symbols you will also find an ankh symbol on each reel, which is the scatter symbol and needed to trigger free spins. And lastly there is a scroll symbol. This can only appear on reels 3 and also triggers a feature.
Scroll of Seth comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot.
Scroll of Seth Features
Wild Reel
Above the reels you will find an extra row, which is inactive. When you get the scroll symbol on reel 3, this row will open up and spin.
Tier 1
During the base game only tier 1 is possible, when a scroll lands, the Wild Reel only shows wild symbols and between 1 and 3 can land. Wilds landing on the row will make all symbols below it wild.
Tier 2
During free spins you only tier 2 is possible, when a scroll lands, the Wild Reel can award wild symbols or a scatter symbol. Between 1 and 5 wilds can land at the same time. Wilds landing on the row will make all symbols below it wild. When a scroll lands all wilds awarded on the reels will be held and the row spins again, now highlighting one or more spots. Wild symbols landing on this spot will now have a x11 multiplier, scrolls landing on the highlighted spots will add more free spins.
Free Spins Features
3, 4 or 5 ankh scatter symbols will award 8, 11 and 15 free spins. During free spins Tier 2 is active, as explained above.
You can get a total of 50 free spins maximum.
Verdict
Scroll of Seth is almost an exact copy of Coywolf Cash, another Play’n Go title. With some small changes like an adjustment in volatility and also higher multipliers.
It’s a fine game, but I don’t really understand the theme here. I really thought this was another “Book of” game. I wish they picked something else as a theme.
Gameplay is also fine. It’s nothing new and a lot of times you only get wild reels that don’t do anything or only pay small amounts. During tier 2 that’s of course improved a lot, but you do need those x11 wilds on the correct spots to really pay something nice.
Overall I think it’s a fine game, but to be honest, it didn’t blow me away. Check out the game for yourself to see what you think.
