It’s time for a new online slot game by Thunderkick. The game is called 12 Bolts of Thunder. And it feels like they went with a Norwegian myth theme, but didn’t overdue it. But let’s be honest, that’s Thor’s hammer, right?
The reels are set in the clouds and symbols seem to be set onto rune stones.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.
Besides low paying card symbols and high paying slot symbols like sevens and bars, you will also find wild and scatter symbols on all reels. And lastly we have hammer symbols, which appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. All symbols, except scatters and wilds, can appear stacked on all reels.
12 Bolts of Thunder comes with a really nice big maximum payout of 30.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Hammer Win
Like I mentioned above, hammer symbols can appear stacked on reels 2, 3 and 4. When you get at least 4 hammer symbols anywhere on screen, you are awarded a cash prize. The more hammers the bigger the reward. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 hammer symbols will award 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 50x, 100x, 500x and 1.000x your bet respectively.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 6, 9 and 12 free spins respectively.
During free spins, when you get a Hammer Win, like explained above, the prizes will be increased for the next time. There are a total of 5 upgrades. After this the prizes won’t increase anymore.
On the last level, 12 hammers will award 30.000 times your bet.
Each time you get a Hammer Win, you will also get 3 more free spins.

Verdict
The game feels like a Norwegian game, but somehow Thor, Odin or even Loki don’t appear. And they somehow went with more basic symbols like sevens and bars. I think it would have been nice if they made the theme more interesting, but I do think the game looks very clean now.
This is one of those games like for instance the Quick Hit slots. Getting a certain number of special symbols will instantly award a jackpot or set amount.
These games seem to be pretty popular. Normally I’m not a huge fan of these games. But on 12 Bolts of Thunder, the free spins feature makes it a lot more interesting. The upgrading of the rewards and getting more free spins, makes for a very exciting free spins feature. Especially since you can win up to a massive 30.000 times bet.
It might not be my favorite Thunderkick slot and also might not be the most unique, but 12 Bolts of Thunder is a solid title with big win potential.
