In 2022 Push gaming released a game called Big Bamboo. Which instantly became a very popular slot for this provider and also received a sort of spin-off called Bamboo Ways. Now they have released a full sequel called Big Bamboo 2.
It still comes with the very nice looking, almost cartoon-style theme of a panda, Maybe inspired by Kung Fu Panda even. Featuring a nice background and several animals. An Asian theme done right.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 6 symbols high and comes with 50 lines.
Besides low paying suits symbols, you will also find medium and high paying animal symbols. Then there are wild symbols and bonus symbols, which can appear on all reels. Lastly there are mystery symbols, which can appear stacked on all reels.

Features
Mystery Bamboo Symbols
Mystery symbols can land during both the base game and during free spins. All instances of this symbol will turn into one and the same normal paying symbol, wild symbols or Golden Bamboo symbols.
Golden Bamboo
When Golden Bamboo symbols are revealed, the Golden Bamboo Feature is triggered. Each bamboo symbol will spin and reveal one of the following:
- Instant Prize – worth between x1 and x5.000 bet
- Multiplier – multiplies all values of Instant Prize and Collector symbols by between x2 and x10, after this the multiplier will re-spin
- Collector – collects all Instant Prizes and other Collector symbols. The Collector will remain and all other, collected symbols, will re-spin
- Lucky Bamboo – Will trigger the Lucky Bamboo Feature after the Golden Bamboo feature is finished
- Scatter Symbol
Lucky Bamboo
The Lucky Bamboo symbol that triggered the bonus will leave a bronze frame and you will receive 3 re-spins. Only bamboo symbols can land and each new bamboo that lands will reset the re-spins back to three.
Each bamboo will leave behind a bronze frame, or when it lands on a already active frame, it will upgrade it from bronze to silver to gold and finally to diamond.
The feature ends when you run out of re-spins. Each frame will reveal a cash reward. Bronze can reward any, silver awards at least 5x bet, gold at least 25 times bet and diamond at least 1.000 times bet.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award between 6 and 8 free spins. 4 scatter symbols will award between 7 and 9 free spins with the two lowest suits symbols already changed into mystery bamboo symbols. 5 scatters will award between 8 and 10 free spins where all low paying suit symbols have been changed into mystery bamboo symbols.
During free spins each scatter that lands is collected and each time you have collected 4 of them, the lowest suit symbol will change into a mystery bamboo symbol until the end of the free spins. It will also add a bigger multiplier and give extra free spins.
When all 4 suits symbols are upgraded to mystery bamboo symbols, scatters no longer appear.

Big Bamboo 2 comes with several bonus buy options. Including buying free spins for 150 times bet, which will award 3, 4 or 5 scatters. Or buy a 5 scatter trigger for 1.200 times bet. Mystery Bamboo, Golden Bamboo and Lucky Bamboo can also be bought.
Verdict
Big Bamboo 2 is a more pumped up version of the original. Not only the maximum payout, which went from 50.000x bet to 75.000x bet. But also with the features.
The original used a lot of the same mechanisms and features. Even the free spins where pretty much the same. But Push Gaming now added an extra feature with those Lucky Bamboo symbols. Giving a Huff ‘N Puff type of feature with upgrading frames. Which is a really nice addition.
Overall they released a game that never gets boring and has so much going on that you are always waiting for the next bonus or feature.
I really like this game and it also helps a lot that the game just looks good.
