Boat Bonanza – Colossal Catch Overview
Back in 2022, Play’n Go released a slot game called Boat Bonanza. Now, almost a year later they gave this game a sequel with the name Boat Bonanza – Colossal Catch.
And this sequel also uses a fishing theme where you will catch fish for cash rewards. But to be honest, not that much has changed, theme-wise.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 12 lines. Again with the strange number of lines.
You will find standard card symbols and all sorts of fishing gear. You will also find fish symbols with a cash value on them and scatter symbols. There are no wild symbols on this game.
Boat Bonanza – Colossal Catch comes with a maximum payout of 3.000 times bet. Which is 2.000 times lower than the original by the way.
Boat Bonanza – Colossal Catch Features
Fish symbols appear on all reels and will have a random value of up to 50 times bet.
Collecting these fish is done by the two boats that move around above the reels. These boats aren’t active when they are grey. And becomes colored when they are active. When fish symbols land on reels that have an active boat above them the boat will collect all values of the fish.
When both boats are active on the same reel you will trigger the Mega Catch and all fish on all reels are collected.
Free Spins Feature
3 or more scatter symbols will award 10 free spins. During the free spins both boats are always active.
But during free spins a new symbol is added, a swordfish. When a boat catches a swordfish, it is added into a Colossal Catch meter on top of the reels. Each time you collect a total of 3 of them you activate extra free spins and a higher multiplier.
- Collect 3 swordfish and receive an extra 8 free spins and a x2 multiplier
- Collect 3 more swordfish and receive an extra 6 free spins and a x5 multiplier
- Collect 3 more swordfish and receive an extra 4 free spins and a x10 multiplier
- Collect 3 more swordfish and receive an extra 2 free spins and a x25 multiplier
The multiplier only applies to Colossal Catch wins, not during normal catches or paylines.
I’m not really sure why this sequel was released? I’m guessing the original was popular enough, although I already forgotten about it.
This sequel just isn’t interesting enough. The base game is exactly the same as the original, except for an extra row of symbols. And although free spins are different, with those extra free spins and higher multiplier, it’s not that different or interesting. Mainly because the maximum payout has decreased a lot.
The only thing I find interesting and a plus is the fact that this sequel is medium volatile, which will appeal to more players.
But overall, it’s just not different enough or interesting enough to really make an impact. And I’m guessing I will forget about this release just as soon as the original.
