In 2019 Thunderkick released a game called Carnival Queen. A very colorful slot with 4096 ways and increasing multipliers. Now, over 5 years later, they have released a sequel with Carnival Queen 2.
Thunderkick kept everything players loved about the first game. The very colorful Brazilian carnival theme but also the increasing multiplier and tumbles. But they have added some extra features, including increasing ways.
The game uses 6 reels that are at random, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 symbols high, giving a starting 5040 ways. Meaning symbols pay left to right, starting on the first reel, no matter where the symbols appear.
It also uses tumbles, or reactions. So winning symbols are removed from the reels and new symbols fall in from the top, creating the option for several wins within the same spin.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find high paying character symbols and a golden crown as the top paying symbol. Then there are bonus symbols, which can appear on all reels and wilds, which come with a special feature, more on that below.
Carnival Queen 2 comes with a big maximum payout of 25.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Increasing Multiplier
A general multiplier starts on x1. For each tumble, or reaction, the multiplier will go up by x1, with no limit. The multiplier is reset back to x1 when all winning combinations are done and a new spin is bought.
Exploding wild and Increasing ways
Wild symbols can appear on all reels. A wild symbol, once used, will always explode and remove all symbols from the reel it is on and 1 random symbol from all other reels.
After this it will increase the number of symbols on the reel it was on by +1, up to a maximum of 7.
A maximum of 2 wilds can appear at the same time.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 12 free spins. Any extra scatter symbol above the initial three will add 4 more spins to this.
Free spins start with multiplier that was active when free spins where triggered and also does not reset between spin, so it can only go up. The same is true for the number of ways, they don’t reset and can only go up, to a maximum of 117.649.
2 scatter symbols during free spins will add 3 extra free spins and 2 more for each extra scatter above those.
Bonus Buy
For 100 times your bet you are able to buy the free spins feature. For 175 times bet you are able to buy free spins with a starting minimum of 10.000 ways.
Verdict
Carnival Queen was already a solid title, but they managed to improve it with this sequel.
It comes with more interesting features, like for instance the exploding wild and the increasing ways.
Overall it’s a very nice game and a great continuation on the original.
