Colt Lightning Inferno – Overview
Play’n Go’s new slot game is called Colt Lighting Inferno and is the third installment within their Colt series after Colt Lightning and Colt Lighting Firestorm.
Of course the theme has stayed pretty much the same, revolving around horses and other animals.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 1024 ways instead of paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying animals you will also find wild symbols. There are scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 and lastly coin symbols which can appear on all reels.
Colt Lightning Inferno comes with a huge maximum payout of 50.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Lightning Blaze
When a horseshoe symbol lands on reel 3, between 3 and 20 symbols will receive a frame. All these frames will change into one and the same animal symbol.
Inferno Core
On the left of the reels you will find a giant ball they call the Inferno Core.
Each coin that appears on the reels is collected by this Inferno Core. This can randomly trigger the Hold N’ Lock feature when at least 1 coin is collected.
Hold N’ Load
When triggered you are awarded with 3 re-spins.
During it these spins only coins can appear and each time a new coin lands, it will reset the spins back to 3.
The top 4 rows on these reels are locked, but will unlock when you collect enough coins. 3, 10, 15 and 20 coins are needed to open up row 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively.
During this feature the jackpots can also be awarded when landing the corresponding name.
Feature ends when you run out of spins or fill all spots with coins.
Fire Free Spins
3 scatter will award 8 free spins. During free spins all Colt symbols become Fire Colt symbols, which pay higher.
Each scatter that appears during free spins will add 1 more free spin, up to a maximum of 47.
If a Horseshoe lands it will add between 1 and 4 frames on the reels. And at the end of the free spins, all frames will change into one and the same animal symbol.
Verdict
Play’n Go kept a lot of the theme and mechanisms from the earlier two slots. But has now added a Hold & Spin feature.
To be honest, the features aren’t anything special or anything new. It has been done before.
So for me the only thing that really stands out on Colt Lightning Inferno is the maximum payout of 50.000 times bet. Which I’m sure will bring in a lot of players.
Overall Colt Lighting Inferno is not a bad game and is pretty enjoyable. But since it’s the third within the series, I was expecting a little more.
