Congo Cash XL Overview
Back in 2021 Pragmatic Play, together with Wild Streak Gaming released a game called Congo Cash. Which I somehow didn’t review. Now they have released a follow-up called Congo Cash XL.
The game looks pretty much exactly the same as the original. With the same animals, jewel blocks and even the gorilla next to the reels. The only real difference you notice is the fast that this new game comes with an extra reel, so extra ways.
You will find 6 reels that are each 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, and 4 symbols high. This setup will give you 1296 ways instead of paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will find medium to high paying animals. Then we have a diamond which is the wild symbol and appears on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only. There are Congo Cash symbols and XL symbols which also only appear on those four reels. And lastly there are butterflies that only appear on reels 1 and 6.
Congo Cash XL comes with a maximum payout of 4.400 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Jewel Board
Above reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 you will find blue and red jewels. During each spin the bottom row falls off and new ones are added on top.
Jewels can have the following awards on them:
- Cash values of 4x and 200x bet
- Jackpot amounts of 20x, 80x and 2.000x bet for the Minor Major and Grand respectively
- Between 8 and 100 free spins
When a butterfly appears on both reels 1 and 6 at the same time and at least 1 Congo Cash symbol is present on the reels, the bottom jewel is awarded.
There are also XL symbols on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. These are the same as the normal Congo Cash symbols, as you need both butterflies to trigger them. But these XL symbols will collect between 1 and 5 jewels from where they land, at random.
Free Spins Feature
Collect at least 1 free spin jewel during the Jewel Board feature and you are awarded with the free spins noted on the jewels.
During free spins a guaranteed wild is always added on the reel that triggered the bonus. The Jewel Board is also still active and can add more free spins.
Bonus Buy
You also have the option to buy the free spins feature for 100 times your bet. This will award at least one free spin jewel.
Verdict
I liked Congo Cash. It’s a fun game that uses one of those features that was popular in land-based slot game, only for a small time it seemed.
Congo Cash XL is really nothing different. It’s the same game, but it is more extreme. You now have the XL symbols that can award multiple jewels, you have an extra reel, which will give more ways. There is a bigger maximum payout of 4.400 instead of 2.200 on the original and you now also have the option to buy the bonus.
If you are going to play any of the Congo Cash slots, pick the XL one, it has more to offer. But I wish they went even more extreme with it.
