Gates of Olympus is one of the more popular Pragmatic Play slots which has also received a couple of versions. But now it seems they have released more of a an offshoot, an adjacent title, with Fortune of Olympus.
It comes with pretty much the same Olympian theme where Zeus is next to the reels. And a lot of the same features are present on this slot game.
The game uses 7 reels that are each 7 symbols high and comes with a cluster pays mechanism. Five or more of the same symbols that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination. And you will also see tumbling reels. Winning clusters are removed and new symbols fall on top, creating the possibility for several wins within the same spin.
Besides low paying gem symbols and medium to high paying Zeus themed symbols, you will also see scatter symbols on all reels. There are no wilds on this slot game. There are special multiplier symbols, which are explained below.

Multiplier Symbols
During normal spins and during free spins, multiplier symbol can randomly land or be added to the reels. These come with multiplier of between x2 and x500. After all tumbles are done and no more winning combinations appear, all these multiplier symbols are added together and will multiply the total win.
Free Spins Feature
4, 5, 6 and 7 scatter symbols will award 15, 20, 25 and 30 free spins respectively.
During free spins, any multiplier symbol that appears is collected to the left of the reels, which acts as a global multiplier. Any winning combination, after all tumbles are done, are multiplied by this overall multiplier.
4 or more scatter symbols will add extra free spins.
Bonus Buy
Besides a couple of special bets you are also able to buy free spins for 100 times bet. Or super free spins for 500 times bet, where the minimum multipliers are x5 instead of x2.
Verdict
A lot of Fortune of Olympus has stayed the same from Gates of Olympus. The only really noticeable thing is the fact that the general multiplier during free spins is always used, not just when a new multiplier symbol is present. Which is a nice improvement, because that was an annoying thing on the Gates slot.
This version also comes with a lot of bonus buy options. I am not sure how I feel about all these instant buy options. I miss the days where you just played a game, hoping on bonus symbols or scatter symbols and triggering the bonus. These days there are more and more options, which I personally think will change the payout on these games. But that’s just a personal opinion, not actually proven.
Overall Fortune of Olympus is a solid new title that feels like a good companion to Gates of Olympus and with double the maximum win possibility.
