Endorphina has released a new online slot game called Gift of Midas.
Where Midas is of course the famous King Midas from Greek mythology that turned anything he touched into gold.
The game uses 5 reels which are each 3 symbols high and comes with 10 paylines.
You will find low paying card symbols and medium to high paying treasure type symbols. Wild symbols can also appear on all reels. There are no scatter symbols, but there are three colored orbs that can appear on top of normal paying symbols and will correspond with the three pots on top.
Gift of Midas comes with a nice maximum payout of 6.500 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Each time a colored orb lands, it is collected by the corresponding pot on top of the reels. At random one of these three features can trigger when its corresponding token is collected.
- Green – Deluxe – You are awarded with 15 free spins. Before free spins start a random normal paying symbol is picked to act as a special expanding symbol. When the chosen symbol lands and a winning combination is possible, all special symbols will expand and pay on all reels. Like a basic “Book of” slot game.
- Red – Expand – You are awarded with 15 free spins. When the same paying symbols land on consecutive reels, starting with reel 1, they will expand and pay then pay as normal.
- Blue – Linked – You are awarded with 15 free spins. Before free spins start a random normal paying symbol is picked as special symbol. When these symbols land on the reels and can create winning combinations on active paylines on their corresponding reel, they will take those spots on the reels. The game now also pays starting on reel 1, 2, 3 and/or 4.
During these features only orbs of the active bonus can appear and can randomly retrigger the free spins.

For 124x bet you can buy the blue, Linked, feature.
Verdict
Gift of Midas is one of those three-pot slot games, but with some fun features.
They all revolve around expanding symbols and resemble “Book of” slots in a way. Except maybe for the Linked feature. Which is a nice touch, I haven’t seen that before. But it works great on these types of slots.
The theme is OK, but also something that has been done a lot. Also I find it a bit weird that Bonus Buy only award the Linked bonus and none of the others.
