If you are a bit of a casino goer, and I am talking about land-based casinos, then you probably have seen a game called Huff N’ Puff by Light & Wonder. A very popular game that has been available for several years now and even received a follow-up, More Puff and one after that called Even More Puff. And that’s the one I am talking about today and the one that’s been released online.
It comes with The Wolf and the Three Little Pigs theme. Where the wolf is lurking around the reels during all spins.
You will find 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and the game uses 243 ways instead of lines.
Besides low paying tools symbols you also have medium to high paying pigs. Then there are hard hats on all reels and wild wolf symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. Lastly there are buzz saw symbols that can also appear on all reels. Normal paying symbols and hard hat symbols can appear stacked on all reels.
Huff N’ Even More Puff comes with a maximum payout of 7.500 times bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Free Spins
Getting 6 or more hard hats anywhere will trigger the free spins feature.
You are awarded with 6 free spins where the frames of the triggering symbols will become straw. Each time a new hard hat lands, it will leave a frame, or upgrade an exciting frame if one was already active. The frames go from straw to wood and finally brick (which are golden frames).
3 or more hard hat symbols during free spins will add 1 more free spin.
Once all free spins are done, the frames will award the following:
- Straw: Between 0,5 and 2 times bet
- Wood: Between 2 and 8 times bet, or the Mini jackpot, Mini jackpot x2 or Minor jackpot
- Brick: Between 10 and 250 times bet, or the Mini jackpot, Mini jackpot x2, Minor jackpot, Major jackpot, Grand jackpot or the Wheel Bonus (only when the bonus wheel didn’t trigger the free spins)
Wheel Feature
Landing 3 or more buzz saw symbols will award a spin on the Bonus Wheel.
The bonus wheel can land on the following:
- Buzz Saw Feature – Each Buzz Saw will move to the right and leave behind frames that are straw, or upgrade them instantly when a new saw moves over an earlier one. After this the normal free spins start, with the awarded starting frames
- Mansions Feature – Only brick frames will appear during the free spins and the starting buzz saws will start with a brick frame
- Mega Hat Feature – Before free spins, mega hat symbols will spin and land on the reels, these are 2×2, 3×3 or 3×5 big. After this all landed symbols will become straw frames and the normal spins begin
- Any of the jackpots
- Upgrade – Will award a new spin with upgraded possibilities
Wheel Upgrade Feature
Landing 2 or more buzz saws and the special golden buzz saw on reel 5 will award the upgraded bonus wheel. The upgraded bonus wheel can also be awarded when spinning the normal bonus wheel.
The upgraded features are:
- Super Buzz Saw Feature – Reels will become 6 symbols high and the triggering buss saws will be copied onto the extra 3 rows. - Super jackpot, Grand Jackpot or Major Jackpot
Verdict
The original Huff N’ Puff was a very popular game when it was released, and at that time, unique.
After this the mechanism has been copied a lot. But I still have a weak spot for that original.
After that the “more” version added something extra, like the wheel. And now, Huff N’ Puff Even More Puff adds even more, that upgraded wheel with super features.
I really like this game. It’s just a lot of fun that you can trigger all sorts of bonuses. Of course they all revolve around the same Hold & Spin feature. But the differences are just fun and keep the game more interesting. Of course one of the big jackpots or that Mansion Features are some of the best.
