I’m happy to inform that NetEnt also released their Christmas themed game. The game is called Jingle Bells Bonanza and unlike a lot of other releases, this isn’t a reskin of an earlier game, but an original slot game.
Of course the game has a full Christmas theme where you will find the reels on Santa’s sled with 4 elfs hanging on for dear life. It all looks very good.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.
Besides standard card symbols you will also find all sorts of Christmas toys. And scatter symbols on reels 1 and 5. The game also features wilds, but these come in play due to a feature, explained below.
Jingle Bells Bonanza comes with a maximum payout of 4.186 times your bet and is a medium volatile game.
Jingle Bells Bonanza Features
Bells and Frames
Bell symbols can only land on reels 2, 3 and/or 4. When one or more Bell symbols appear, the position they landed on will be highlighted by a frame.
New Bells landing on a spot that already has a frame, will add a multiplier of x2 and after that x3 and so on.
When a scatter symbol lands on reel 1 and/or 5, all framed become wild symbols with our without any multipliers collected on the frame.
Cash Drop Feature
Landing both scatters on reels 1 and 5 at the same time will trigger the Cash Drop Feature.
You are taken to a new set of reels where only blank spots and cash symbols can appear. The triggering scatter symbols will become cash symbols worth x3 and will lock into place.
You will then receive 3 respins. Each time a new cash symbol appears, it is locked and respins are reset. Cash symbols can have values between x1 and x100 times bet.
The feature ends when you run out of respins or fill the reels. After this all multipliers are added together and multiplied by your bet.
Cash Drop Progress and Ultimate Cash Drop Bonus
Each Bell symbols appearing will also fill a progress bar on top of the reels.
Each time you reach a new gift, the next Cash Drop Feature will be upgraded with special modifiers. The progress bar will reset after a Cash Drop feature.
- Multiplier – Total winnings from the bonus are doubled
- Expand – Two extra rows of symbols are added to the reels
- Spin – An extra respin is awarded, so you have 4 respins instead of 3
- Mystery – Golden Cash symbols can appear during the bonus
When you reach the final present on the progress bar, you instantly enter the Ultimate Cash Drop Feature with all modifiers active.
Golden Cash Symbols will always reveal a prize of between 3x and 20x and trigger one of the following bonuses:
- Four Arrows – Will collect all Cash Symbols that are horizontally and vertically from this symbol
- Plus Sign – Will increase the value of all Cash Symbols on screen
- Single Arrow – Will collect all Cash Symbols from the direction of the arrow
Verdict
I really appreciate that NetEnt chose to release a new game. Not a reskin of something we already know. And they packed in a lot of fun features on this one.
The wild frames are a nice added touch, that keeps the base game going.
And of course the Cash Drop feature is nothing new, the way they did it, with the added bonuses and even the special Golden Cash Symbols, makes it a lot of fun. Of course you want to activate several gifts before triggering the bonus for the best results.
Jingle Bells Bonanza is also a medium volatile game, which might invite more players than when it was a high one. Which I think also serves a Christmas themed game better.
Overall I really like the game. It’s nothing we haven’t seen before, but it’s just fun and puts you in the Christmas spirit.
