Novomatic has released a new online slot game called Joker Heist.
This slot game uses a bank robbery theme with a sort of joker girl, or maybe even a Harley Quinn type character. The reels are set within a big safe and for symbols you can expect diamonds, gold bars and more.
The game uses 3 reels which are each 5 symbols high and comes with 243 ways instead of paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying items like gold and diamonds, you will also find wild symbols on all reels. All normal paying symbols can appear stacked on all reels. Then there are scatter symbols which can land on all reels. And TNT symbols, which will be explained below. Mystery symbols are also available on this slot game.
Joker Heist comes with a nice maximum payout of 7.250 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.
Features
Cascading Symbols and Multiplier Meter
This game uses cascading symbols. Which means that winning combinations are removed from the reels and new symbols fall on top, creating the option for another winning combination. This keeps happening until no more new win appears.
Each time a winning combination is removed, the multiplier meter on top of the reels will go up 1 spot. Increasing the general multiplier. It resets after no more new wins appear during base spins. This meter has a maximum of x500 multiplier.
TNT
During base spins and during free spins feature TNT symbols can appear at random, or be added to the reels at random. A TNT will increase the multiplier meter by 2, 3 or 5 steps.
Mystery Symbols
Mystery symbols can land on all reels during the base spins and during free spins. All instances of mystery symbols will change into one and the same normal paying symbol, excluding wilds.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 and 5 scatter symbols will award 8, 10 and 12 free spins respectively.
During free spins the multiplier meter doesn’t reset between free spins and can only go up.
Each scatter that appears during free spins will add 1 more free spin.
Bonus Buy
You are able to buy free spins for 100x bet. For 200x bet you can buy free spins with a higher chance of getting TNT symbols. Both features award a minimum of 3 scatters.
Verdict
I was pleasantly surprised by this new slot game.
I’m not talking about the theme, because that’s perfectly fine, but nothing special to be honest.
But more about the gameplay. Of course this game feels a lot like for instance Gonzo’s Quest by NetEnt. With the cascading symbols and increasing multipliers. But here the multiplier can go up much, much higher and the added TNT symbols even make that go faster. Which does make for an exciting game.
Overall I think it’s a good game. It’s simple, but effective.
