Le Cowboy – Overview
Hacksaw Gaming released a new online slot game called Le Cowboy. Using their familiar angry raccoon, which last went to visit Mount Olympus in Le Zeus.
As with all these “Le” games, it’s a very comical themed slot game and this one plays out in the wild west. With an old town, saloon doors and the raccoon wearing a cowboy hat.
The game uses 6 reels that are 5 symbols high and comes with a cluster pays mechanism. 5 or more of the same symbols that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as winning combination. You will also find tumbles or reactions on this game. Winning clusters are removed and also all matching symbols anywhere else on the reels. The rest of the symbols fall down and new symbols are added from the top. Creating the possibility for several winning combinations in a row, within the same spin.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying western themed symbols, you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can also appear on all reels.
Le Cowboy comes with a very big maximum payout of 25.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Revolver Reveals
When a winning cluster includes a Wild, it transforms into a Revolver Cylinder containing between 2 and 6 shots. Once all tumbles are complete, cylinders fire in sequence, hitting random positions on the grid (a position can be hit multiple times). Cylinders themselves are not Wilds.
Each shot reveals one of the following: Coin, Diamond, Clover, Loot Bag or Reload.
- Reloads (maximum of one active on the grid) will refill all cylinders with 2 to 6 new shots.
- Gold Clovers multiply the values of all Coins, Diamonds, and Loot Bags by between x2 and x20.
- Green Clovers multiply all adjacent symbols by between x2 and x20.
- Loot Bags collect all revealed Coins, Diamonds and Loot Bags.
After all special symbols have been activated, all values are paid. Coins and diamonds come with cash values of between x2 and x500 times bet.
Free Spins Features
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger a free spins feature. Depending on the number of scatters that triggered the feature, you will play a different free spins feature.
- High Noon Saloon – 3 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with all the same features as the base game, but an increased chance to land Revolver Reveals. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during these spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins respectively.
- Trail of Trickery – 4 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as High Noon Saloon. But there is also a Cylinder on top of the reels. Each winning cluster will add 1 bullet to this cylinder. After the last spin, this cylinder will give a Revolver Reveals feature with the bullets collected. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during these spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins respectively.
- Pistols at Dawn – 5 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as Trail of Trickery. But the cylinder above the reels will empty and thus award a Revolver reveals feature after each spin. You can’t win extra free spins during this feature.
Gambling for better Free Spins
If you trigger High Noon Saloon or Trail of Trickery, you can chose to gamble the feature for a better feature. Upgrade the feature to the higher level. This will award a cash reward or the higher feature, play at own risk.
Bonus Buy
Le Cowboy offers several bonus buy options. For 3x the bet you can activate a 5 times higher chance of triggering the bonus. 75x the bet will guarantee you to land at least 2 wild symbols. For 65x the bet you can buy High Noon Saloon and for 250x the bet you can buy Trail of Trickery. Pistols at Dawn isn’t available as a bonus buy but can be gambled for.
Verdict
Le Cowboy, like almost all Hacksaw Gaming slots these days, is a great new game with some solid bonuses and huge win potential. Especially for a medium volatile slot game.
I think the theme is funny and works very well. Even though the Revolver Reveals isn’t something new, it’s a fun feature that can award great prizes.
I also like that you now are able to gamble for a better feature. But be aware, this isn’t a 50/50 chance, the chance is more like 15% maybe to better your feature. So be aware of that.
Overall Le Cowboy is just another great addition from Hacksaw Gaming. Which are absolutely killing it these days!
