Play’n Go has already released several online slot games within their “of Dead” series. The most famous one being Book of Dead of course, but also games like Banquet of Dead and Pilgrim of Dead. Most of these games are “Book of” titles. But it seems that Play’n Go is now adding games within that series with other mechanisms. Like for instance their latest release, Myth of Dead.
They keep the Egyptian theme as always where the reels are set against the Nile delta.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 10 lines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find high paying God symbols. Then there are wild symbols on all reels in the form of Horus and scatter symbols also appear on all reels.
Myth of Dead comes with a maximum payout of 3.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Wild Re-spin
All character or God symbols come with cash values. During base spins these are between 1 and 5 times your bet.
After any spin, Wild Re-spin might be triggered. This will award a free re-spin where at least 1 wild symbol will land. This wild symbol will collect all values of all character symbols.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 and 5 scatter symbols will award 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively. Before free spins one of four different modifiers will be randomly picked. These modifiers are:
- Pyramid Power – Increases the number of God symbols appearing
- Scarab Scramble – Increases the number of Wild symbols appearing
- Ankh Ascend – Start free spins with a x2 multiplier
- Khopesh – Awards 3 extra free spins
During free spins each wild symbol that appears will collect all values of all God symbols. Wild symbols are also collected into a meter. Each time you collect 4 of them, you will trigger 5 more free spins and the multiplier is increased by x1. After the third re-trigger (15 extra free spins), you can no longer receive more free spins.
Verdict
Myth of Dead is one of those “Big Bass” games. Of which there are plenty, from all types of different providers.
And to be honest, Play’n Go didn’t really add anything unique or special to their game. It’s all pretty basic. And other “Big Bass” type slots have bigger maximum wins, or more interesting modifiers, like for instance Big Bass Amazon Xtreme.
I think I would have liked it more if this title wasn’t one of those “of Dead” slots. To keep it more clear that those games are reserved for “Book of” type slots.
Overall a pretty basic game, with a very overdone theme and nothing unique or special.
