Candy Stars Overview
Of course there is a new Pragmatic Play release this thursday and today the game is called Candy Stars.
And let me start by saying you can forget about the theme, because there is no theme. It uses basic card symbols and candy symbols in a style we’ve seen a lot before. And you will find stars and diamonds. That’s it. The theme is none.
The game uses 5 reels that are 3 symbols high and also has a added row of symbols above reels 2, 3 and 4. This will give a total of 576 ways.
Wild symbols only appear on the top row and come with their own feature. Scatter or bonus symbols only appear on the normal reels 1, 3 and 5.
Candy Stars comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet.
Candy Stars Features
Winning combinations are removed from the reels and the top row. All symbols fall down and new symbols fall on top or slide into the row on top. After this you can get another winning combination. This keeps happening until no more winning tumbles appear.
Sticky Multiplier Wild Symbols
Wild symbols can only land on the top row. When a wild symbol is used in a winning combination it will not be removed. In fact it will stay in it’s spot. Each wild comes with a x1 multiplier. This multiplier will go up by x1 after each winning tumble. Up to a maximum of 128x.
Free Spins Feature
Get three scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 to trigger 8 free spins.
During free spins you will get a guaranteed wild symbol during each spin. The wild symbols now have a starting multiplier of x2 which will go up by x2 after each tumble. Still with a maximum of 128x.
Three scatter symbols during free spins will add 5 more free spins.
At some online casinos you are able to buy the free spins feature for 80 times your bet.
I think it’s a shame this game has such a forgettable and boring theme. Because the game is pretty interesting.
The sticky wilds with increasing multipliers during both the base game and the free spins feature can really push the wins up fast. Especially during those free spins when the multiplier goes up by x2 each tumble. And it’s also pretty unique that the wilds stay on that top row on a ways game with tumbles.
And being able to buy the bonus always interests some players.
Overall the game is pretty simple and basic, but can award some great runs. But still, the theme should have been much more interesting. And I think a lot of players will pass this game by because of it.
