Wild Mining XXXtreme – Overview
NetEnt has already released several XXXtreme slot games by now. Some a bit of a disappointment, like Taco Fury XXTreme. And some very successful, like Starburst XXXtreme.
Now NetEnt released another game within that series called Wild Mining XXXtreme.
As the name suggests, it’s a mining themed game. With a miner, canary and of course gold nuggets.
You will find 6 reels that are 4, 5, 5, 5 and 4 symbols high. Giving you a total of 10.000 ways instead of paylines.
Winning combinations are removed from the reels and new symbols fall on top, creating the option for another win, within the same spin. This keeps continuing until no new winning combination appears. This is what NetEnt calls an Avalanche Feature.
Besides low paying card symbols, you will also find medium to high paying gems and a miner. Wild symbols only appear due to features, explained below. And the game doesn’t come with any scatter symbols. But does come with Wild Zippy, a yellow canary, also explained below.
Wild Mining XXXtreme comes with a huge maximum payout of 25.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Wild Symbols
Any symbols that are used in a winning combination from the top row (reels 2, 3, 4 and 5) will turn into wild symbols instead of being removed from the reels. Wild symbols can also come with multipliers, more than one multiplier wild will be multiplied by each other when used in a win.
Wild Zippy
Wild Zippy is the canary symbol which comes with 6 different types of bombs. These bombs have numbers on them. And each winning avalanche will count down the bomb. When the bombs reached zero, it will activate and award the following wild patterns.
- Simple Bomb – explodes after 3 avalanches – single wild
- Vertical Bomb – explodes after 4 avalanches – will award a wild that expands 3 symbols vertically
- Horizontal Bomb – explodes after 5 avalanches – will award a wild that expands 3 symbols horizontally
- Plus-pattern Bomb – explodes after 6 avalanches – will award a wild symbol in a cross symbol, expanding up, down, left and right
- Omni-directional Bomb – explodes after 7 avalanches – will award a wild block of 3×3 symbols big
- Max Bomb – explodes after 10 avalanches – Awarding the maximum win of 25.000 times bet
Elevate features
You can activate two elevate features. For 10 times bet per spin, all wild appearing will have a x2 or x3 multiplier. For 50 times bet, all wild appearing will come with a x2, x3, x4 or x5 multiplier and a Max bomb is always placed on the reels at the start of every spin.
Verdict
This XXXtreme version does in fact deserve the name. Since it can go up to 25.000 times bet. But of course that’s not going to be easy. You need 10 consecutive wins you achieve this, with a Max Bomb in sight.
Of course you can activate the Elevate Spins, but those are costly. Although, they do seem to award some good wins.
There really isn’t any bonus feature, or free spins bonus. It’s all about those avalanches and those Wild Zippy symbols. So this game might become a bit repetitive for some players.
But overall Wild Mining XXXtreme is a great new addition from NetEnt and worth a try.
