Pragmatic Play released a new slot game called Red Hot Luck. Well the full title is Red Hot Luck PowerPays.The PowerPays refers to something new they have been added to this game, not to be confused with PowerNudges, which you could find on Happy Hooves Powernudge.
Red Hot Luck doesn’t really come with a theme. It’s just standard card symbols and some gem symbols and stars for scatters, that’s it. The reels are set against some kind of mountain, but I have no idea why. There are no wild symbols on this game.
Instead of lines the game uses cluster pays. 5 or more of the same symbols, horizontaly and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination. And you will also find tumbles. So winning combinations are removed from the reels and new symbols fall on top, creating the option for another win.
Red Hot Luck comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

PowerPays Meters
Winning symbols all come with their own points when they are removed from the reels. These are between 50 and 2450 points, depending on how many symbols and which symbols are removed. All points from all winning symbols are collected into a meter on the right. Depending on how many points you collect during a bought spin, depends on how much you are paid once all tumbles are done. You will be awarded between 0,2 and 100 times your bet.
Scatter Multipliers
Any scatter symbol that appears can come with a random multiplier of between x2 and x500. At the end of a spin, after all tumbles are done, the total reward is multiplied by multipliers on the scatter symbols.
Free Spins Feature
4 or more scatter symbols will award 10 free spins.
During free spins, whenever a scatter with a multiplier appears during a winning spin, the multiplier is collected. When new scatters with multipliers appear and give a win, the collected multiplier and new multiplier are added together and will multiply the total win from that spin.
4 or more scatter symbols during free spins will add 5 more free spins.
Bonus Buy
Some casinos will have the option to buy free spins for 100 times your bet.
Verdict
Red Hot Luck is a bit of a weird game because of those PowerPays. Symbols don’t award a cash prize, but points and during a spin you just keep collecting points and are finally awarded with a prize.
This works, but most of the time, rewards are very low, even after several winning tumbles. The only way to really get some nice wins is with those scatter multiplier, which don’t seem to appear that often.
Free spins makes the game more interesting and also seems the way to get some solid wins.
I like it when providers try something new. And in some cases, it can work well, like we’ve seen with Megaways for instance. This PowerPlay might appeal to some players, but for me it doesn’t really add anything special. They could have just made symbols pay as normal for me.
It also doesn’t help that there isn’t really any cool theme.
