Happy Hooves (Powernudge) – Overview

Pragmatic Play has released their third game using their Powernudge mechanism. After Goblin Heist and Rise of Giza. This time they went with a horse theme and the game is called Happy Hooves.

The game features 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and uses 40 lines.

You will find standard card symbols and horse symbols. But also scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Their are also wild symbols, which are also horses. And last, mystery symbols.

Happy Hooves Powernudge comes with the standard maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet. Which Pragmatic Play uses on a lot of their slots.

Wild Symbols

The wild symbols on this game work a little bit different than normal.

There are four groups of colored symbols. J, Q, K and A are blue, purple, green and red respectively. Horse symbols also fall into these colors.

And then there are double horse symbols, in the same color groups, that are the wild symbols. But they only count as wild for symbols falling into the same color group.

Powernudge

Mystery symbols can appear on all reels. And when one or more of these symbols land the Powernudge Feature is triggered.

All mystery symbols will reveal either one of the wilds or a golden symbol. When golden symbols are revealed they will each spin separate and reveal either a multiplier or a scatter symbol.

You are awarded with the total multipliers times your bet. And if you have enough scatter symbols, the Re-spin feature.

After this the mystery symbols close again and all nudge down one spot on their reel. This will keep happening until no more mystery symbols appear on the reels.

Powernudge Respin Feature

3 scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Or 3 or more scatter symbols during a Powernudge will award the respin feature.

Two reels will become covered in mystery symbols. They will reveal and then nudge one spot, just as with the other feature. When no more mystery symbols appear on the reels the bonus will end.

During this feature besides wilds the mystery symbols can now also reveal Nudge Up symbol. This will nudge the mystery symbols up the number of positions equal to the number of Nudge Up symbols that appeared.

And the PowerNudge Respin feature has a general multiplier. This multiplier starts at x1 and increases by x1 after each nudge.

Some casinos will offer the option to buy the Powernudge Respin Feature for 100 times your bet.

Verdict

Happy Hooves comes with some known mechanisms, but also with something pretty unique.

The unique part are those colored groups of symbols. 4 different colors with each 2 normal symbols and a wild. That’s something I don’t think I have seen  before and somehow it works pretty well.

Of course mystery or reveal symbols are nothing new. And even combining that with nudges is something that has been done before. Awarding those multipliers is nice, but to be honest, Razor Shark by Push Gaming does it much better and can pay a lot more. But is also extremely volatile. Happy Hooves is high volatile but not that extreme.

Overall I do like this game. It looks good and has enough bonuses and features to keep the game going.
