Sobek’s Godly Spins – Overview
Among all the Christmas releases these weeks, Play’n Go just released a new slot game that isn’t Christmas themed at all. Sobek’s Godly Spins comes with a mix of Egyptian and Vegas theme.
Of course Sobek is also the god of the Nile from ancient Egypt. He’s the one with the crocodile head.
The reels seem to be set against a Vegas hotel, with classic Vegas lettering on top. It looks fun.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 30 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium paying casino chips, you will also find Sobek and Anubis as high paying symbols. These high paying symbols can appear stacked on all reels. Then we have Ankh symbols on all reels, that count as the wild symbol and pyramids, which are the scatter symbols.
Sobek’s Godly Spins comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Free Spins Feature
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger the free spins feature. Before free spins start a wheel will spin to determine the number of free spins, which are between 5 and 20.
During each free spin a random multiplier is chosen on a wheel on top of the reels, this multiplier can be x2, x3, x5, x8 or x10. Also, scatter symbols are an extra wild symbol during free spins.
Eclipse Spins
During free spins, getting 2 or more scatter symbols will trigger Eclipse Spins.
A wheel will spin and award between 3 and 8 free spins. These free spins are now played with the multiplier that was active when triggered. After these Eclipse Spins, the normal spins continue and you can again trigger Eclipse Spins.
Eclipse Spins can also retrigger themselves, when hitting 2 or more scatters. Up to a maximum of 150 Eclipse Spins are possible.
Verdict
If you are a little familiar with slot games from the past 10, maybe 15 years, you might recognize the features from Sobek’s Godly Spins. It’s the same as the classic Montezuma slot by WMS Gaming. That game was very popular back in the day. It was also one of my favorites.
And I don’t mind that Play’n Go uses the same bonus for this new game. It’s a fun feature that can award some solid wins, especially when you get a lot of Eclipse Spins with a big multiplier.
Overall it might not be the most exciting new slot game, but Sobek’s Godly Spins is an enjoyable game nonetheless.
You can play it now at any Play’n Go casino. Let me know what you think.
