Over the Moon Overview
Over the Moon is the latest online slot release by Big Time Gaming and is another Megaways game. Like I mentioned in other posts, these days they dropped the Megaways part from their titles in most cases.
This new game takes us back to the early days of sending people to the moon, like the 70’s. So the game has a bit of a retro look and feel. But somehow the symbols are still the standard card and gems we know from this provider.
The game has 6 reels that are between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin. This setup can give a maximum of 117.649 Megaways per spin.
The game also comes with reactions. Meaning that winning combinations are removed and all remaining symbols fall down. New symbols than fall on top and can create the option for another win.
Besides standard card symbols and gems you will also find meteor symbols that come with cash values on them. And star symbols that are the scatter symbols on this game.
Over the Moon comes with a nice big maximum payout of 13.570 times your bet.
Over the Moon Features
Rockets and Meteor Prizes
During any spin or reaction a rocket might appear next the reels. In fact more than one can appear at the same time, up to three even.
During a base game spin rockets will have a multiplier of x1, x5 or x10. Each rocket also comes with up to three filled fuel cells. After each reaction rockets will lose a fuel cell and rockets with no more fuel cells left are removed.
When Meteor symbols appear they can have a cash value of up to 100 times bet. Each active rocket will collect these meteor prizes and multiply it by their active multiplier.
If there are no rockets but meteor symbols do appear, these are removed and not collected.
Free Spins Feature
Over the Moon comes with normal scatter symbols and a special enhanced scatter symbol on reel 6.
Three scatter symbols will award 12 free spins. Each extra scatter will add 2 more free spins.
During free spins the rockets have an unlimited multiplier. The first rocket that appears will have a x1 multiplier, each consecutive one will be increased by x1.
Now you can also get a special battery symbol on reel 6. When a battery appears it will recharge all rockets that are already in play back to the maximum 3 fuel cells.
The only difference between the normal and enhanced free spins is the fact that the enhanced free spins multiplier starts at x2 and will increase by x2 with each new rocket.
3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 4 more free spins and 2 extra for each scatter after that.
When you get a win of at least 80 times your bet during the base game, you have the option to exchange this for 12 normal free spin. If you get a win of between 25 to 80 times your bet you can gamble your winnings for free spins.
Some casinos will offer the option to buy normal free spins for 70 times your bet, or enhanced free spins for 140 times your bet.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but somehow Big Time Gaming is losing a little bit of their shine lately.
Lately it seems that a lot of their games are just variations on other games they already released. The same with Over the Moon. This game is almost the same as Gifts of Fortune, which was almost the same as Golden Catch Megaways.
And I’m also not that impressed with the theme. I like the background and the rockets, but why keep all the other symbols the same as usual? On Golden Catch they changed the gems for fish, so why not make some changes here?
And don’t get me wrong, it’s a Big Time Gaming slot, so it’s s good game. And comes with fun features and a high maximum payout. So definitely worth a try.
You can check Over the Moon out for yourself and let me know what you think. Am I right, or do you feel I’m a bit too demanding?
