Temple of Akhet – Overview
Thunderkick has released a new online slot game called Temple of Akhet.
As the name might suggest, it’s an Egyptian themed slot game. And as with all Thunderkick slots, the theme has been done very well. This slot looks amazing, in my opinion, even though an Egyptian theme is anything but unique.
The game uses 6 reels which are each 5 symbols high and comes with a scatter pays mechanism. 8 or more of the same symbols, anywhere on the reels, count as a winning combination. And you will also find cascading symbols. Winning symbols are removed. All remaining symbols fall down into empty spots and new symbols are added on top. Creating new options for winning combinations to keep continuing.
Besides low paying gem symbols and high paying Egyptian themed symbols, you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. And lastly there are two special wild symbols available on this slot game. More on those below.
Temple of Akhet comes with a nice maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Multiplier Ladder
Below the reels you will find the Multiplier Ladder. This starts on x1 and increased one step for each winning cascade. Each new multiplier is the sum of the previous two multipliers. A special Sun Disk wild will increase the steps instantly with 1, 2 or 3 steps when it’s part of a winning combination.
Wild Symbols
There is a Golden Scarab Wild and a Sun Disk Wild which can appear on all reels. These count for any normal paying symbol.
If a Golden Scarab Wild is part of a win, you will trigger the Sticky Respins Feature. The Sun Disc Wild upgrades the Multiplier Ladder, as explained above.
Sticky Respins Feature
When a Golden Scarab Wild is part of a win, it will trigger the Sticky Respins.
All winning symbols and scatter symbols are kept on the reels and all other symbols are removed and a new cascade happens. As long as the win improves, this will continue. The feature ends when the win is not improved or if you fill the entire reels. The Multiplier Ladder is also active and increased one step for each respin.
Free Spins Feature
4 scatter symbols will award 12 free spins and any extra scatter above that will add 2 more free spins.
During free spins the Multiplier Ladder comes with safety levels. It starts on x1 but now Sun Disc Wilds will increase that safety level.
Between free spins the Multiplier Ladder resets back to the safety level multiplier.
3 scatters during free spins will add 5 more free spins and 2 extra free spins for any extra scatter above the initial three.
Bonus Buy
For 100 times bet you can buy the free spins feature, which will guarantee at least 4 scatter symbols.
Verdict
Overall I am a big fan of Thunderkick, so I’m always a bit bias. But I really like Temple of Akhet.
The theme is done very well, even though I’m personally think there are too many Egyptian themed slots.
And the gameplay is also very enjoyable. The scatter pays with the increasing multiplier. Then on top of that you can trigger a respin feature. It just works.
During free spins it’s also nice that they added that safety level. Because multipliers can become very high, fast. Which can award massive wins. And there is no limit on the multipliers.
Overall it’s a solid game. Even though it’s not something we haven’t seen before.
