Viper City Heist – Overview
Play’n Go has released a new online slot game called Viper City Heist. Which comes with this bank robbery, heist theme, as the name might suggest. It has this sort of GTA look to it.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 20 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols, depicted on casino chips, there are also different characters for the higher paying symbols. Then there are wild symbols which can appear on all reels. On reels 2 and 4 you are able to land scatter symbols, within the golden framed spots. Lastly we have money symbols and suitcase symbols, which become active during a Hold & Spin feature.
Viper City Heist comes with a pretty big maximum payout of 15.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.
Features
Quick Hit
The Quick Hit feature can trigger on any non-winning spin in the base game and during free spins if there are three or less money symbols on the reels. When triggered 1, 2 or 3 of these money symbols are instantly collected.
Heist Re-spins
When you land 4 or more money symbols during the base game, or during free spins, you will trigger 3 re-spins.
The triggering money symbols are held and all other spots re-spin, now only blank symbols or money symbols and/or suitcases can land. All new symbols appearing will also be held and re-spins are reset back to 3.
The feature ends when you run out of re-spins or when you fill the entire screen with money symbols.
Money symbols have a value of between 0,5 and 15 times bet. Suitcases will award one of the 3 jackpot amounts.
Free Spins Feature
Getting both scatter symbols on reels 2 and 4 within the marked spots will trigger the free spins feature.
A wheel will award between 6 and 20 free spins with a starting multiplier of between x2 to x5.
Scatter symbols seem to appear more often during free spins and landing both in the specific spots again will add 2 more free spins and will increase the multiplier by x1.
After the multiplier reaches x10, which is the maximum, any extra retriggers will add 4 more free spins from then on, up to a maximum of 150 free spins.
The multiplier applies to all wins during free spins.
Verdict
Viper City Heist is a bit of a basic slot game. It uses everything we’ve seen before, a lot.
Those money symbols that can collect instantly and also trigger the Hold & Re-spin feature is nothing new and has been done way too much already, in my opinion.
The only feature I think is a bit worth your time, is the free spins feature. Because you can reach a multiplier of up to 10x, which applies to all wins, this can become a rewarding feature. And with a maximum win of 15.000 times bet, it must be the feature you want to trigger.
But somehow, even with that pretty OK free spins feature, it all felt too familiar, too similar to other titles. Even the theme isn’t really that special and has been done a lot.
