Warlocks – Overview
Big Time Gaming just released Warlocks, a new online slot game which uses a magicians theme. Warlocks are actually male witches or practitioners of magic.
And Big Time Gaming offers players two of them. A red warlock and a blue warlock, each standing on their own towers where the reels are set within. And a fiery and icy background. So they seem to have fire and ice magic.
The game uses 6 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 4096 ways instead of paylines.
You will find tumbling reels. So winning symbols are removed from the reels and the remaining symbols fall to the bottom of the reels, then new symbols fall on top. Creating the possibility for another winning combination. This keeps happening until no new wins occur.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find medium and high paying magical items. Wild symbols can appear on all reels, except reel one. And lastly there are special orb symbols, which can appear on all reels. There are no separate bonus or scatter symbols on this slot game
Warlocks comes with a big maximum payout of 24.100 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Warlock Bonuses
During base spins one or both Warlocks can randomly activate a feature. The red, or fire warlock, will remove all symbols from reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, except orbs. The blue, or ice warlock will pick one random normal paying symbol on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and change all instances of that symbol into orbs.
Stash and Spin
Landing 6 or more orbs will trigger the Stash and Spin feature.
During these spins only blank spots and orbs can land on the reels. Each orb landing can be worth up to 50x bet and when landing is instantly collected and added to your total win. They are not sticky.
The red, fire warlock can set a landed orb on fire, which will then stop that spot from spinning. That fire will spread to adjacent spots after each new spin, restricting more and more spots to be able to spin. But the border around the spots will receive a multiplier of x2, which will double each time the blue, ice warlock activates.
The blue, ice warlock will put out any fire on the reels, so all positions can spin again.
The feature ends when no positions can spin anymore because of the red, fire warlock.
Bonus Buy
For 60 times your bet you are able to buy the Stash and Spin Feature.
Verdict
To be honest, Warlocks is a more basic Big Time Gaming slot game. It only offers a sort of Hold & Spin feature, but with the twist that nothing is hold and these spins can keep going for a long time, as long as the fire warlock doesn’t block the game.
The base game features are a nice little extra, but are only needed to trigger the Stash and Spin feature.
I don’t mind the fact that this game is a little more basic, at least for Big Time Gaming standards. And the theme is nicely done.
But I think there might be players out there that are expecting more. And they might be a little disappointed.
