Wild Wild Bananas Overview

Pragmatic Play released a slot game called Wild Wild Riches back in 2020. And have now released Wild Wild Bananas.

On first glance the games look the same, only with a different theme. But that’s not the case. Most of the basics are the same, but Pragmatic Play did add something new on this new bananas version.

The theme they went with is sort of a Jungle Book theme. We see basic card suits, but also colorful flowers, a snake but also a buy that’s very similar to Mogli.

Besides all these regular symbols you will also find wild symbols on reels 1 and 2. A scatter symbols, which is a golden monkey statue on reel 3 only. And banana symbols with cash values on reels 3, 4 and 5. All symbols except the wilds and bonus symbol can appear stacked on all reels.

And speaking about the reels. The base game is set up on 5 reels that are 3, 3, 4, 4 and 4 symbols high. Giving you 576 ways.

Wild Wild Bananas comes with a very nice maximum payout of 12.000 times bet.

Money Collect Feature

Bananas only appear on reels 3, 4 and 5 and come with cash values of between 1 and 25 times bet. Or the Mini, Major or Mega jackpot of 50, 100 and 500 time bet respectively.

When both reels 1 and 2 have a wild symbol all bananas on adjacent reels will be collected and paid. The bananas have to form a winning combination. So if you have bananas on reel 3 and 5, but not on reel 4, only the values from reel 3 will be awarded.

This feature is active in both the base game and during the free spins feature.

Free Spins Feature

When you get both wild symbols on reels 1 and 2 and the bonus symbol on reel 3 you will trigger 10 free spins.

During free spins more wild and banana symbols appear on the reels.

But there are now also golden banana symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5. These will still have a cash value, but also when a gold banana symbol appears it will grow the reel by 1 symbol. This will now stay like this for the duration of the free spins. Up to a maximum of 8 symbols high.

When a golden banana appears on a reel that is already 8 symbols high, you are awarded with 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9 or 10 extra free spins. These extra free spins can only happen once per reel.

Ante Bet

You are able to activate an ante bet for 20% of your total bet. This will increase the chance to get wild symbols on reels 1 and 2.

Verdict

I really loved the original Wild Wild Riches slot. But I think I like Wild Wild Bananas even better.

First I think the theme is a little more fun. The Irish theme is pretty standard for slot games and this Jungle Book theme is also not unique, but less used.

But what makes this game better for me is the fact that reels can now increase during free spins. Giving you up to a maximum of 4608 ways during free spins.

And this does mean that triggering more free spins is harder than on the original. But I think this way makes the game more interesting.
