Play’n Go has released a new online slot game with a theme they are well-known for, Egyptian. The game is called Wrappin’ Gold and comes with a more fun, cartoon-like Egyptian theme with funny mummies and a lot of color.
It’s also, as we can expect these days, a three pot slot game. So expect three different bonus features. But this one is a bit different than normal, which will be clear when you read the review.
The game uses 5 reels which are each 3 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find medium to high paying Egyptian themed characters. Then there are three different colored diamond. These are the scatter symbols. But the green one also acts as a wild symbol.
Wrappin’ Gold comes with a pretty low maximum payout of 1.525 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.

Scatters
Like I mentioned above there are three differently colored diamonds that act as the scatter symbols. These scatters are collected by their corresponding pot on top of the reels. And can trigger their feature at random when a diamond is collected. But features can also be triggered by other ways, listed below.
- Green Wild Diamond – When it is collected it can randomly trigger the Bonus Feature. The Green Scatter also acts as a wild symbol.
- Red Collect & Win Diamond – When it is collected it can randomly trigger the Collect & Win Feature.
- Purple Bonus Spins Diamond – When it is collected it can randomly trigger the Bonus Spins Feature.
Instant Bonus
This bonus triggers at random when one or more green wilds appear on the reels.
Pick spots to reveal one of the jackpots. Pick three of the same and you are awarded with the associated jackpot. Mini, Minor, Major and Grand for 5x, 10x, 50x and 500x your bet respectively.
Collect & Win
This bonus triggers at random when one or more red diamonds are collected, or when a mummy lands on reel 1 and a red diamond lands anywhere else.
The spins are played on reels that are 5 by 5 symbols big.
You will receive 5 free spins with a mummy that is 2×2 symbols big on the reels. When coins land within the mummy they are collected. Coins can have a value of between x1 and x10. There are also red diamonds tthat can land, they have a value of between x1 and x20. But the mummy will always walk towards any red diamond that lands and will also collected those diamonds on top.
If you collect enough red diamond the mummy will grow to 3×3, 4×4 and finally 5×5 big. And you will also receive 3, 2, 2 and 1 extra free spin respectively.
Bonus Spins
This bonus triggers at random when one or more purple diamonds are collected, or when you get 3 or more purple diamonds at the same time.
You are awarded 6 free spins with a much higher chance of landing diamonds and triggering the other bonuses within this bonus.
Three or more purple diamonds will award 3 more free spins up to a maximum of 25 free spins.
Verdict
Wrappin’ Gold is a fun little slot game but won’t be making any top slots lists.
It uses a funny theme and offers several bonus features. Where most three pot slots only trigger at random and have features that are combined. Wrappin’ Gold offers several ways too trigger the features, but they aren’t combined. They are separate features. Which I can also enjoy to be honest.
The thing that does impact this game more negatively is the maximum payout of only 1.525 times bet. Which these days, is low, even for a medium volatile slot game.
Overall Wrappin’ Gold is a nice game, but maybe more for casual slot players and not the die hard slot players looking for extreme wins and innovating features.
