Beat the Beast – Quetzalcoatl’s Liar is the fourth slot game in a series of five slot games in total by Thunderkick with the Beat the Beast theme.
We first saw Kraken’s Lair, Mighty Sphinx and Cerberus’ Inferno (which I somehow forgot to review, sorry).
All these games have the same feel, but come with different free spins features. Now Quetzalcoatl’s Liar is the fourth release.
Beat the Beast – Quetzalcoatl’s Liar comes with a Mesoamerican Jungle theme and 9 paylines on 5 reels, 3 symbols high.
The game features golden wild symbols that also act as the scatter symbols. And they award the free spins feature when you get 3 or more of them at the same time.

3 or more scatter symbols will award 10 free spins.
During the free spins feature special stacked wild symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.
The free spins feature has 5 levels. Each time you collect a total of 5 wild symbols, you will go up one level. The lowest medium paying symbol will change into the symbol above that and you will be awarded 2 extra free spins. This can happen a total of 5 times after which all medium paying symbols have been changed into the highest paying symbol.
Verdict
Beat the Beast slot games are pretty cool games with great bonuses and Quetzalcoatl’s Liar is no different.
This feature where symbols upgrade into higher paying symbols is nothing new, we already seen this in the classic slot game Eye of Horus, which also received a Eye of Horus Megaways version. But that’s OK, because these features are very cool.
And Quetzalcoatl’s Liar does give it a little twist with stacked wild symbols and adding 2 more free spins after each upgrade.
