Divine Fortune Black – Overview
The original Divine Fortune slot by NetEnt was already released back in 2017. Wow that makes me feel old, because I still remember the release. After that original release they also added Divine Fortune Megaways in 2020. And now in 2025 we get another title within the series Divine Fortune Black.
Why black, well I’m guessing because of the colors and background. This game uses a lot of black, which does make it feel very fancy and deluxe to be honest.
For the rest, a lot of it stayed the same. A Greek mythology theme with lions, Minotaur, Medusa and Pegasus.
The game uses 5 reels which are each 3 symbols high and uses 20 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying mythological symbols, you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Then we have wild symbols that appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. Lastly there are coin symbols and special collect symbols. Which can appear on certain reels, depending if you are in the base game or one of the two free spins features.
Divine Fortune Black comes with a very big maximum payout of 20.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Cash Prizes and Jackpot Collect
Coin symbols which have a value of between x1 and x20 times bet or the Minor 25x, Major 250x or Mega 2500x can land on reels 2, 3 and 4 during the base spins and during Divine Spins. They can land on all reels during Fortune Spins.
Fortune Collector symbols can land on reels 1 and 5 during the base spins and during Divine Spins and can land on all reels during Fortune Spins.
When one or more Fortune Collector symbols appear together with Coins, all values of all coins on screen are collected and paid.
Expanding wilds and coins and Re-spins
During the base spins, when a Wild or a Coin lands, you will trigger a re-spin feature. The wild and/or coin symbols will become sticky and move down one spot on the reels after each spin If new symbols land they also become sticky and will move down. If the same symbol lands behind an already present symbol, the symbol will expand to cover the entire reel. They also then drop down one spot after each spin. The re-spins end when there are no more wilds and/or coins on the reels.
Free Spins Features
Three or more scatter symbols will award the free spins features. Pick between 2 features to play:
- Divine Spins – 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 5, 8 and 12 free spins respectively. Wild symbols and coins will now always expand when appearing and will thus trigger the re-spins feature as explained above. These re-spins won’t cost you any free spins. You can’t win extra free spins, scatters don’t appear during this feature.
- Fortune Spins – 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 3 re-spins with 0, 1 or 2 mystery symbols respectively. Only blank spots, Coins, Collectors and Mystery Symbols appear during these spins. Landing any symbol that’s not a blank, will reset the spins back to three. All special symbols become sticky, except collectors. The feature ends when you run out of spins or when you completely filled all the spots on the reels. Any mystery symbol that appeared will reveal a random jackpot. Filling 1, 2 or all 3 rows with symbols will also award the Minor, Major and Mega jackpot respectively.
Bonus Buy
You are able to activate several extra bets to increase chances or buy Divine Spins for 50 times bet or Fortune Spins for 100 times bet.
Verdict
Divine Fortune Black keeps a lot of the basics players love about these games. The jackpots, the expanding wilds and the re-spins. But they have added those special collection symbols now, so you can also get collection wins during normal spins and during Divine Spins.
And of course the addition of a Bonus Buy.
Divine Fortune Megaways still comes with a bigger maximum payout of 25.000 times bet, but 20.000 times bet isn’t bad either. And hitting that maximum win is very, very rare.
Overall I think NetEnt did a great job with the black. The game is very, well black.
The gameplay is good and different enough to differentiate from the other titles. But close enough that is really is a Divine Fortune slot.
I was never a really big fan of Divine Fortune myself, but I know this game is very loved, still. So I’m happy NetEnt added another title to the mix.
