Hot Turkey – Overview
Only last week I reviewed a Thunderkick slot named Split Happens. And now it’s already time for another release, Hot Turkey. Which seems to be their Christmas release.
The game revolves around a Christmas diner with a turkey which seems to keep exploding. The game is very colorful and uses a Christmas soundtrack.
You will find a grid of 7 by 7 symbols and Hot Turkey is a cluster pays slot. Meaning that any combination of 5 or more of the same symbols that are connected horizontally and/or vertically, count as a winning combination.
It also uses cascading symbols, or tumbles. Winning symbols are removed and new symbols fall on top, creating the option for several wins in a row.
You will find all sorts of Christmas themed symbols like candy canes, gifts and apple pie. There are also scatter symbols, which is the word HOT, that can appear on all reels. And there is also a turkey, which is the wild symbol.
Hot Turkey comes with a pretty big maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.

Exploding Wilds and Multipliers
Wild symbols can appear at random, but will also be added once a winning combination is removed.
After all wins are paid, the wild symbols will explode, removing all symbols surrounding it.
When a wild symbol explodes, the spots below the symbols will get a multiplier. This will start with x2 and will double each time a new explosion happens on top of that spot. Up to a maximum of x128.
Any winning combination on top of those multipliers, will be multiplied by the total multipliers.
The multipliers will reset back once no more winning combinations appear.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 10 free spins.
During free spins the multipliers below the symbols don’t reset and can only go up.
3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 10 more free spins.

Verdict
Hot Turkey is a fun game with a fun Christmas theme. But it’s nothing new. In fact, the features are almost identical to Sugar Rush by Pragmatic Play.
But I don’t mind it. It’s something new for Thunderkick and at least they aren’t just giving an old game a Christmas skin, which a lot of providers used to do.
The game can also pay double that of Sugar Rush, so I would prefer this one over that one.
Hot Turkey might not be all that original, but it’s a solid game and especially during the Holidays, one to give a try.
