Play’n Go has released a new slot game with another Egyptian theme. A theme they love and use a lot.
But this time they didn’t take the “Book of” route, but instead released a game that is very similar to some Hacksaw Gaming slots, like for instance Le Santa and Le Cowboy.
The game uses 6 reels that are each 5 symbols high and comes with a cluster pays mechanism. 5 or more of the same symbols that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination. You will also find tumbling reels with a small twist. Winning combinations are removed and also all of them same symbols everywhere else on the reels. New symbols fall on top, to create the possibility for more wins, within the same spin.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying Egyptian symbols, you will also find wild symbols. Scatter symbols can appear on all reels. And lastly there is a special Ra symbols, of which only one at a time can appear.
Ra’ Reckoning comes with a huge maximum payout of 50.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Divine Frames and Ra’s Blessing
When winning clusters are removed, the will leave behind bronze frames. Each time new winning clusters appear on the same frame, they will change into silver and finally gold.
When the special Ra symbol is on the reels after all tumbles are done and frames are present, The frames will award cash rewards or one of two special symbols. Coins will award between 0,2 and 25x bet, depending of the color. A jar can be revealed, which will collect all coins and then give new coins. Or a Clash, which will award a multiplier of between x2 and x10 which will be applied to all adjacent coins and jars.
Free Spins – Red Eclipse
3 scatter symbols will award 8 free spins.
All frames will become sticky between spins until they are activated by a Ra symbol.
2 scatter symbols during free spins will add 2 more free spins and 2 extra for any scatter above the initial 2, up to a maximum of 46 free spins.
Free Spins – Divine Red Eclipse
4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols will award 8, 10 and 12 free spins respectively.
All frames will become sticky until the end of the bonus, even when they have been activated during free spins.

Verdict
Play’n Go took a good look at some Hacksaw Gaming slots it seems. Because this Ra’s Reckoning slot comes with the same type of feature as those ones.
But of course mechanisms and features are copied a lot with online slot games.
I especially like the theme of Ra’s Reckoning. It’s an Egyptian theme, but done in a more anime, comic type way. Which makes for a very cool looking games.
Overall the features are also pretty nice, even though they aren’t new. Especially with 4 or more scatter symbols, free spins can ramp up wins fast if enough of those frames appear.
Like with most Play’n Go slots, this one doesn’t offer a bonus buy option. Normally I don’t mind that, but on this game, somehow, I miss it.
But it’s a solid title, definitely worth a try.
