Druid’s Magic – Overview

NetEnt released Druid’s Dream in October of 2023. Not to be confused with Druid’s Dream, another NetEnt release.

The theme features ancient druids and all sorts of mythical animals. Which makes for an amazing looking slot game.

The game use 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.

Besides low paying rune symbols there are also medium to high paying animal symbols. Like a crow, owl, wolf and white bear. There are also 2 scatters symbols, one of reel 1 and one on reel 5 which are the druids. There are also a total of 5 different wild symbols featured, these are explained below.

Wild Symbols

Druid’s Magic comes with 5 different wild symbols, each acting a specific way. During any normal spin, at random, one of the 5 wild symbols can appear on the reels. There is always just one type active, but more of the same type can land at the same time.

• Stacked Wilds – Will be a maximum of 3 symbols high, will land partially or fully
• Expanding Wilds – When this wild symbol lands it will expand to cover the entire reel
• Random Wilds – When this wild symbol lands it will add 1 to 9 more random wilds on the reels
• Linked Wilds – When two of these wild symbol lands on the same row, they will get connected, making all symbols in between wild
• Colossal Wilds – Can appear as a 2×2 symbol big wild symbol, can land partially or fully

Free spins feature

Scatter symbols are two symbols high and appear only on reels 1 and 5. Get both scatter symbols, fully in view, to trigger 10 free spins.

Before free spins start 1 of the 5 different wild symbols is picked to be active during free spins. Active wilds appear a lot more often than normal.

Getting both scatter symbols, in full view, during free spins, will add 5 extra free spins and activate another wild symbol. Free spins can retrigger until all 5 wild symbols are active.

When more than one type of wild symbol is active, they can now also appear together on the reels. Even all 5 at the same time.

When all wild symbols are active, scatter symbols no longer appear and you can’t win any more free spins.

Verdict

Druid’s Magic is probably one of NetEnt’s most beautiful looking games, at least in my opinion. I love the feel and look of theme. It all feels very mystical.

The features are also nicely done. The fact that there are 5 different wild symbols, which we all know, combined into one slot. During the base game it seems to appear pretty often, but of course only one type. But during free spins, especially when you are able to get more than 1 active wild, it becomes really interesting. I was able get all 5 wilds during a bought feature, which awarded mega win after mega win, because they all appeared at the same time. I loved it!

The only thing that could have improved this game and made it a 5 out of 5 stars title would be a higher maximum payout. I really think this game could use it and it would work.
