Elk Hunter was released by NetEnt in November 2023 and comes with an amazing looking nature theme. Where you will see all sorts of North-American wildlife like bears, mountain lions and of course elk.
The game uses 4 reels that are each 6 symbols high and comes with scatter pays instead of lines. 8 or more low paying symbols, or 6 or more of the highest paying symbol, the elk, count as a winning combination. No matter where on the reels.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find all sorts of animals. And there are also wild symbols that can appear on all reels. Free Spins symbols also appear on all reels.

Verdict
Let me start with the positive, the theme. I love how this game looks. It’s very beautiful and althougn the game is called Elk Hunter, they refer to the animals and not some dumb human with a gun.
But for the gameplay, it’s a bit blend. It starts off nice, but after some spins you are already waiting for the free spins feature. The base game doesn’t bring a lot of excitement. And although the free spins are a lot more interesting, because of the low maximum payout, it never gets really excisitng.
For me Elk Hunter is one of those games I have given a try, but won’t visit again. But judge for yourself.
