Fruit Shop Frenzy was released by NetEnt in August of 2023.

In 2011 thye released the original Fruit Shop slot, wich somehow became a classic and popular title for this provider. And in 2021 the game got a Megaways version with Fruit Shop Megaways.

Not much has changed, the game looks almost identical to the original. But there are added fetaures during free spins.

The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 15 paylines.

Besides standard card symbols you will also find all sorts of fruits like cherries, lemons and more. The Fruit Shop logo counts as a wild symbol and can appear on all reels. There are no bonus or scatter symbols. Free spins are triggered by getting winning combinations, just like the other titles.

Free Spins Feature

When you get a winning combination with fruit symbols, you will trigger the free spins feature.

Each winning combination during free spins will add 1 more free spin and move the multiplier meter up 1 step.

The multiplier is applied at the end of all free spins. So your total winnings are multiplied.

Helper Symbol

During free spins a special Helper Symbol can appear on reel 5.

This symbol will award one of the following bonuses:

• Frenzy Mode is triggered

Frenzy Mode

When you trigger Frenzy Mode you will receive 3 extra free spins. And now you will have a double multiplier meter that comes with x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9 and x10.

You will enter Frenzy Mode on the multiplier that you where when you triggered it.

Each winning combination during Frenzy Mode will award 1 more free spin and move the multiplier meter up 1 step.

When the Helper Symbol appears during Frenzy Mode, it will now award the following:

• All multipliers will be increased by x1
• You will move one step further on the multiplier meter

Verdict

I never understood why the original Fruit Shop slot was such a popular game. Triggering a small amount of free spins on a very regular basis, just seemed anoying, especially since the rewards where low, most of the time.

But the Frenzy version has improved the maximum payout a lot and also added some extras, like the Helper Symbol and Frenzy Mode. Which does make this version more interesting. But be aware that you will still get a lot of low paying fetaures.

Overall this is a better version than the original, but the Megaways version, in my opinion, is better than this one.
