Gem Crush – Overview

Gem Crush was released at the end of 2023.

The game uses a theme where you will see a stone altar, with a waterfall and all symbols are smaller and bigger gemstones. Not really a very specific theme, but something that’s used more often on games.

Instead of lines the game uses a cluster pays mechanism. Any cluster of 5 or more of the same symbols, horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination.

There are also tumbles or reactions as some call it. Meaning that winning symbols are removed and all remaining symbols fall down, new symbols fall on top, creating the option for another win.

There are a total of 8 normal paying symbols. 4 small symbols on different colors and 4 bigger ones with a stone edge, in the same colors as the small ones. There are also wild symbols, bonus symbols and a special rainbow symbol.

• Gem Crush comes with a minimum bet of €0,10 and a maximum bet of €20,- per spin

Random Multiplier

At random, in the base game, a multiplier of x2, x3, x4 or x5 might become active, multiplying all wins from a bought spin.

Rainbow Gem

Special Rainbow Gems can appear during the base game and during free spins. It will randomly select one type of normal paying symbol to upgrade all the instances of this symbol into another type of normal paying symbol.

Free spins feature

3 or more scatter symbols will award 10 free spins. During free spins 4 special features are active.

• Increasing Multiplier – A multiplier will go up by x1 on every second spin and won’t reset
• Colossal Wild – During each spin at least one 2×2 wild symbol will appear
• Rainbow Gem – A total of 4 Rainbow Gems can appear during all free spins. When a symbol is upgraded, it will stay upgraded until the end of the free spins
• XStrike – At random the multiplier might be increased by x1

Verdict

Gem Crush is a overall an ok game.

It’s not very exciting, but it’s also not very boring. It’s really one of those average games, in my opinion.

It comes with those random multipliers and symbol upgrades during the base game, but it never seems to award big wins.

Free spins are more interesting, but again, nice big wins seem to be pretty rare.

I think there are enough players that will enjoy Gem Crush. For me it’s one of those titles I probably forget about.
