Lost Relics 2 – Overview

In 2018 NetEnt released a game called Lost Relics, which was a great game that a lot of players really enjoyed. So no wonder that in 2023 they released Lost Relics 2.

The game looks amazing and comes with a sort of Indiana Jones type of feel and like. Like an explorer of ancient treasure.

The reels seem to be set inside some old ruins. Maybe a lost temple even. It all has this bit of mysterious look and feel to it. Which is very cool.

The game uses 6 reels that are each 6 symbols high and comes with cluster pays instead of lines. 5 or more of the same symbols, horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination.

For symbols we find different colored suits symbols and broken masks in the same colors. There are also scatter symbols, which can appear on all reels. Wild symbols can also be added to the reels, but only due to special features, explained below.

Hidden Chests Feature

The symbols on the reels are set on stone blocks. When a winning cluster appears, those blocks are removed. Beneath those blocks treasure chests can be hidden.

When blocks are removed, part or all of the treasure chest might be revealed.

When a full treasure chest is revealed it will award random modifiers.

Once you have received the modifiers and are paid, all blocks are added again and new treasure chests can be revealed.

During the base game there is always just one treasure chest available. During free spins there are 3 or 4 treasure chests, except on the final level, more on that later.

Treasure chests can be Silver, Golden or Amethyst. The bigger the chest, the better the rewards. Rewards can be:

• Random Wilds – will award up to 7 random wild symbols that will be added to the reels

Free spins are triggered by a treasure chest, or landing 3 or more scatter symbols.

You are awarded with 10 free spins.

More treasure chests are now available under the blocks. And when you get a level up symbol, the grid will increase to 8×8, 9×9 and finally 10×10 symbols big.

When you have reached the final level, which is 10×10 symbols. One Amethyst treasure chest sits beneath the blocks, once this is reveleaded, no more treasure chests will appear.

As an added bonus, multipliers will stay active during all free spins and accumulate, so can only go up. And all wild symbols become sticky wilds for the duration of the free spins.

Verdict

Sequels of a popular game can be a hit or a miss. NetEnt had a great hit with Dead or Alive 2, but also a real miss with a game like Twin Spin Deluxe, which is already discontinued.

With Lost Relics 2 they have a hit.

The game looks amazing and comes with a lot of great base game modifiers to keep it going because of those treasure chests. But this can sometimes also get frustrating, when you want to reveal those treasure chests and sometimes it takes a lot of spins to do so.

Lost Relics came with a good maximum win of 6.000 times bet, which has been massively improved on this sequel to over 21.000 times your bet.

Overall, Lost Relics 2, is an amazing game, definitely worth a try.
