Milkshake XXXtreme was released by NetEnt early 2023.

This is the second game that uses the XXXtreme title, after Starburst XXXtreme, which means this game also lets you activate special boosted spins.

As the name clearly suggests, the theme of this slot game is milkshakes. And it’s a very colorful game, which I appreciate a lot.

The game is played on a grid of 6 by 6 symbols and uses something we call scatter pays. Which means that any 8 or more of the same symbols, anywhere on the grid, counts as a winning combination.

You fill find standard suits symbols and also scoops of different colored ice cream. There is also a wild symbol, which seems to be a carton of milk. There are no bonus or scatter symbols on this slot game.

Avalanches

Like for instance Gonzo’s Quest, Milkshake XXXtreme comes with an avalanche feature.

Winning symbols are removed from the grid and all other symbols fall down. New symbols then fall on top to possibly create another winning combination. This will continue until no more new winning combination appears.

Milkshake

During each spin a milkshake glass will be located on the left of the grid. This will be a red, green, orange or blue milkshake and will have a random multiplier of between x2 and x100.

Each time you get winning combinations that also match the color of the milkshake, all those winning symbols are collected and will fill up the glass. When the glass is full the attached multiplier is collected. Now 2 new glasses will appear and the feature continues as long as you get winning combinations. Once those are full you will then get 4 glasses, which is the maximum number of active glasses.

All collected multipliers of full glasses are added together and will multiply the total winnings of the bought spin.

Random Boosters

During any spin a random booster might be activated.

• Multiplier Booster – Will replace a multiplier on a glass with a higher multiplier.

Verdict

Milkshake XXXtreme is a very nice looking colorful game with a theme that hasn’t been overused.

I really like the fact that the game uses scatter pays. And collecting those winning symbols into the glasses is a lot of fun and can keep going a long time if you’re lucky. Which will give you some nice wins.

Starburst XXXtreme was very high volatile and came with a massive 200.000 maximum win. For this game they have lowered the volatility but also the maximum payout. This will attract more players and isn’t as rough on your bankroll.
